Overview
Learn to understand and evaluate the psychological and societal consequences of emerging technologies. Why do people distrust algorithms, even good ones? Why does fake news spread faster than the truth? And how do you build technology that actually benefits society instead of causing harm?
Society needs professionals who understand how technology interacts with the human mind and how to design it responsibly. In this Master’s, you will explore how AI, digital platforms and other technologies shape the way we think, decide, connect and collaborate. You will also study the technology itself. How do you detect bias in an algorithm, and what does "machine behavior" even mean? As technologies rapidly improve, it is essential to examine why some take off while others disappear. To help shape new technology, you will study how psychology can inform smarter, more ethical AI systems and hybrid human-machine teams.
