On this Data Science at Bath Spa University, you’ll build a foundation and enables career growth with an overview of how to design and create software. You’ll develop your analytical and computational thinking skills and expand your knowledge of the latest advances in AI in machine learning.

Programme Structure

Courses include:

You'll start with an introduction to the key principles of Data Science, considering both technical concepts and social issues related to data privacy and security. You'll need a good understanding of programming throughout the course, which is introduced using some of the common languages and libraries that do the heavy lifting.
Trimester two builds on these skills with a focused look at Machine Learning as an even more sophisticated data mining too suitable for large scale data sets across varied domains. The main module of the trimester explores the advanced integration of business intelligence and visual analytics in support of strategic decision-making. Lastly you'll start preparing for your final project or dissertation by learning about research methods.
As the final stage of your course, you'll complete either a Project or Dissertation in the final trimester.
