Overview
This Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy - Postgraduate Certificate at Northumbria University is designed for registered/licensed mental health professionals, engaged in clinical practice, and are actively working with psychological trauma populations, who wish to apply effective EMDR Therapy in their clinical practice. Unlike the existing commercial EMDR Therapy training models available, this programme offers you an internationally recognised award of a Postgraduate Certificate qualification.

Developing expertise in EMDR Therapy allows you to progress your career in a manner that can be extremely multi-faceted. As an EMDR clinician you can progress towards becoming an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner, Consultant/ Clinical Supervisor and Trainer. Your expertise can also be related to a specific speciality where EMDR Therapy could be used, enhanced, and further developed. These include for example, working with younger and older populations, ethnic and cultural adaption and sensitivity, trauma capacity building, and early trauma interventions. - The minimum entry requirements for Post Grad Cert, will be evidence of successful level 6 study within the last 5 years, plus 120 credits or equivalence at level 5, plus applicants must provide evidence of the specific eligibility criteria as listed below. To achieve the programme learning outcomes suitable applicants at the point of application must be able to demonstrate that they are working in a clinical environment that has direct access to appropriate clinical populations.
