Overview
The Master of Arts in Creative Media Production at the NABA Milan campus explores how audiovisual media and new technologies can offer different ways of observing and representing reality. Taught in Italian or English, this two-year programme combines artistic experimentation with the methods and technical understanding needed to develop complex media projects.
Students investigate the physical and digital world through tools ranging from cameras and microphones to databases and sensors. The course brings traditional audiovisual production into dialogue with interactive formats, exploring the creative possibilities of coding, artificial intelligence and generative sound design.
The programme offers two specialisations:
- Documentary

- Creative writing and multimedia languages
- Documentary direction and linear audiovisual production
- Interactive systems and installations
- Generative artificial intelligence
- Digital tools for art
- Project culture and new media aesthetics
Students learn to develop proposals across different media and manage projects in which creative decisions and technical processes inform one another. The programme prepares students for professional paths including:
- Technical and concept artist

Programme Structure
The Master of Arts in Creative Media Production at NABA combines practical workshops with critical study, progressing towards specialised audiovisual and interactive projects:
- Year 1: Multimedia design and creative writing introduce ways to develop and structure projects, while audiovisual techniques and digital cultures build an understanding of contemporary media. Lectures and workshops encourage experimentation across platforms, helping students develop their own approach to audiovisual and multimedia production.
- Year 2: Students deepen their practice in documentary or creative coding through advanced multimedia projects, digital tools for art, project culture, and new media aesthetics. Practical audiovisual and interactive work develops their ability to manage creative choices alongside technical requirements. Interdisciplinary activities and projects led by international professionals connect their learning with professional practice.
