Overview

Developed to be flexible, fully online, and to suit the needs of national and international health and social care professionals, this programme will equip you with advanced skills in teaching, support, and supervision, enabling you to inspire and develop others in clinical practice or higher education.  You'll benefit from learning alongside experienced clinical educators in an interprofessional environment. The course features a flexible blend of asynchronous eWorkshops and synchronous sessions, allowing you to engage with content at your own pace. Activities are thoughtfully designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, workplace-based reflection, and professional growth.  

Throughout the Clinical Education and Leadership programme from University of East Anglia, you'll explore cutting-edge theories and practices in clinical education and apply them to real-world projects. In preparation for your dissertation in year three, you'll gain in-depth knowledge of research methodologies, empowering you to drive change and promote excellence in clinical education. The diverse cohort, comprising professionals from various health and social care backgrounds and settings, helps to enrich your learning experience, encouraging you to think creatively about how different people learn.

The course will provide graduates with a variety of career options and opportunities, such as:  

• Full/Part-time Educator, Mentor or Supervisor in an education or healthcare setting.  
• Clinical academic jobs in universities (e.g., Lecturer, Researcher).  
• Clinical educational roles, including those requiring recognition and approval by the General Medical Council or equivalent (e.g., Clinical/Educational Supervisor).  
• Lead roles (e.g., Director of Medical Education, Training Programme Director).  
• Further study (e.g., PhD or equivalent doctoral degree). 
• On completion of the MClinEd Lead, graduates will be able to teach in a range of clinical settings, with a broad range of expertise and sector specific knowledge attained.
