Overview

The Biomedical Sciences (With Thesis) programme at Altinbas University ,by the joint use of basic and clinical sciences and engineering disciplines such as bioinformatics, signal and image processing, aims to develop effective diagnostic and therapeutic methods for metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer and depression, common diseases such as cancer, rare diseases such as Myasthenia Gravis to understand the molecular mechanism of these diseases and determine disease specific biomarkers and develop bioinformatics methods to increase the sensitivity of the diagnosis and especially early diagnosis of diseases. The research area of this programme will also include medical imaging, medical image enhancement, biosensors and radiation biology.

Therefore, the aim of the Biomedical Sciences is to train well-educated specialists, who will work in the application of science to clinics to improve the quality of health services, and to increase the quality of life for both healthy and sick individuals.
