Programme Structure
The Medical Nutritional Science program offers a comprehensive education combining human biology, nutritional sciences, and life sciences. The program includes practical courses, clinical studies, and opportunities for in-depth research.

1st Semester:
- Immunology

- Special Psychology of Eating Behavior
- Systems Biology
2nd Semester:
- Nutritional Therapy
- Infection Biology
Clinical Studies 2 (Design and Implementation)
- Omics in Nutritional Medicine
- Compulsory Electives 1 (you can choose from: Infection Biology, Neurobiology and clinical neurobiology)
- Molecular Medicin - Compulsory Electives 2 ( you can choose from: Molecular Oncology, Food Hypersensitivity, Metabolic Medicine, Molecular Endocrinology, Molecular Cardiovascular Medicine, Neuroendocrinology)
3rd Semester:
- Internship Nutritional Medicine
- Consolidation courses
4th Semester:
- Master’s Thesis in Nutritional Medicine
- Scientific Writing in Nutritional Medicine

General requirements
To join the master’s degree program, you require
- a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Medicine gained at the University of Lübeck or an equivalent degree in Nutritional Medicine or in a closely-related program of study (such as Biology, Biotechnology, Life Science, etc.)
- proof of the special qualification in that the undergraduate degree was completed with a grade of 2.7 or better.
- proof of sufficient knowledge of English in accordance with CEFT B2 (proven by submission of a German Abitur certificate showing courses in the language were taken for at least seven years, or through appropriate language tests ( e.g. TOEFL, IELTS))
