You will learn how media organisation are engaging with the challenges resulting from the emergence of digital media technologies and platforms. The course introduces you to the processes by which media organisations develop their corporate strategies, business plans, marketing and production operation as they respond to radical change on the commercial.

The International Media Business course at the University of Westminster is designed to enable you to find and take up work placements and internships at media organisations in London during the course of their studies. Our graduates have successfully completed internships at TV production, web, multimedia, advertising, and news organisations in London.

Whether you are planning a career in a large media organisation or seeking to create your own initiatives and businesses, the International Media Business MA aims to provide the analytical insight, operational knowledge and planning skills you will need to prosper. The course is taught jointly Westminster's highly successful Media Management MA.

Career Path 

International Media Business students have gone on to work for many social media business including Facebook, Youtube, Google as well as traditional media firms like Sky, Disney and Bloomberg. They have also worked as creatives and digital content producers for small and large business including Land Rover, AEG and BSI Global. Others have continued their education at PhD level.

                  You need the following GPA score:

                  Required score: Upper Second Class

                  Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

                  Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

                  General Requirements

                  • You should possess, or be expecting, a good first degree (equivalent to at least an Upper Second or a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00) from a recognised university and/or have relevant professional experience. Particular consideration will be given to mature applicants.
                  • Applicants may additionally be asked to write 500 words on a topic assigned by the University. As far as possible, telephone interviews are conducted before offers of admission are made. In these, the interviewer looks for evidence of interest in and commitment to the study of communication, as well as analytical skills.
