Overview

Since its inception in the 1980’s, quantum computing has seen great development. The hope of speeding up computation makes this field the next potential technological revolution. The field needs a new generation of passionate scientists willing to work at the frontier of physics, computer science and mathematics. Will you be one of them?

The Quantum Computer Science course from University of Amsterdam will suit you if you are interested in the ethical and societal implications that arise from quantum computing and wish to contribute to the highly active research field that may revolutionize the power of computers.

Careers

A Master of Science degree in Quantum Computer Science gives you a strong foundation for working in key positions, in knowledge-intensive research centers or business. The distinction between research and industry is not always very strict, since part of the industry is also research oriented.

As a quantum expert, career prospects are quite unique. About half of the graduates pursue a PhD and contribute to academic research and education in quantum (related) topics, while the other half move on to a career outside academia.
