Programme Structure


  • Program A: On the approval of the HDR Coordinator, a candidate must complete a thesis to the value of 72 credit points (EDUC599D).
  • Program B: On the approval of the HDR Coordinator, a candidate must complete units to the value of at least 72 credit points:
  • course work to the value of 24 credit points: EDRM501, EDRM502 and 12 credit points of listed units in the Master of Education at 500 level, plus:
  • thesis or portfolio to the value of 48 credit points (EDUC599C:48); and
  • In special circumstances and with the approval of the supervisor and HDR Coordinator, a candidate may substitute another unit for a prescribed unit, where it has been deemed that the candidate has completed an equivalent unit in a previous award; and
  • The examination grade of each course work unit shall be recorded on the candidate's official transcript.

  • certified that the necessary facilities and appropriate support for the applicant undertaking the proposed Master of Education (Research) program are available; and
  • nominated an appropriate Principal Supervisor and Co-supervisor(s) in accordance with the Supervisors - Nomination, Appointment and Responsibilities Rule.
