The MSc programme in Digital Innovation and Management from IT University of Copenhagen is based on an open-ended understanding of management and innovation, primarily informed by studies of the use, management and impact of IT on practices, as well as studies of the values and expectations that informs digitalisation.

As a student of Digital Innovation & Management, you want to make a difference in contemporary IT-development and digital innovation. You are interested in digitalisation as a complex social and technical phenomenon, which in order to do it well, requires theoretical sophistication and innovation, methodological ingenuity, and practical engagement. 

You would like to work critically and constructively with organisational, societal or business challenges and opportunities, which sometimes can be addressed by standard approaches, but more than often requires unorthodox solutions.

Group work is central to the programme, so you should be motivated to collaborate with your fellow students.

Digital Innovation & Management offers a global perspective on IT and prepares you well for an international career in the private or public sector.

With an MSc in Digital Innovation & Management you can become a liaison between business and IT with the ability to speak both languages and act as boundary spanners between different communities of practice. You will know about the affordances of state-of-the-art IT as well as the business needs of different organisations. Furthermore, as graduate from Digital Innovations & Management you will know how to facilitate and make decisions that are based on data analysis and interpretation. You will also be able to decompose the complexity of modern organisations, analyse wicked problems, and propose solutions to social and technical challenges.

If you hold another degree (e.g. an international degree) which is comparable with a university bachelor’s degree or a professional bachelor’s degree, the IT University will make an individual evaluation of the programme in question.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

The IT University of Copenhagen offers state scholarships to three or four exceptionally talented MSc applicants (full-degree students) from outside EU and EEA every year. The scholarships will be offered to the applicants who achieve the best scores according to the criteria in our admission rules. The state scholarships consist of free tuition and partly covering of living expenses.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarships. The IT University considers all admitted MSc students for the scholarships and informs the students chosen for the scholarships in their letter of admission.

Please note that if you receive a scholarship, you will have to follow and pass full time studies.
