The MArch in Architecture and Urbanism is a comprehensive 16-month programme that integrates advanced design methodologies, computation, and innovative manufacturing techniques. Tuition Fee Breakdown
The tuition fee for the MArch in Architecture and Urbanism is £42,816 for all students, regardless of nationality. This fee covers the entire duration of the programme. Syllabus
The programme is structured into two phases, encompassing four terms of study:
- Phase 1: Focuses on design techniques through studio work, workshops, and seminars. Key modules include:
- Design Research Agenda: Social Ecologies
- Design Workshops: Simulating the Real
- Core Seminars: Design as Research
- Behaviour: Examining the Proto-Systemic
- Constructed Histories: Technocentric History of Design
- Software Platforms
- Synthesis: Writing, Research and Submission
- Phase 2: Students develop their thesis projects, which are presented to a panel of esteemed critics. Studio themes include:

- Participatory Agency / Emergent Built Environment

Programme Structure
Programme Structure- Four terms of study are divided into two phases. Phase 1, a three-term academic year beginning each autumn, introduces design techniques and topics through a combination of team-based studio work, workshops and seminar courses.
- In Phase 2, which begins the following autumn, teams develop their Phase 1 work into a comprehensive design thesis project. At the end of January, these projects are presented to a panel of distinguished visiting critics. In the past, these have included Alisa Andrasek, Caroline Bos, Mark Cousins, Hernán Díaz Alonso, Molly Wright Steenson, John Frazer, Zaha Hadid, Michael Hansmeyer, Jeff Kipnis, Ariane Koek, Rem Koolhaas, Marta Malé-Alemany, Wolf Prix, Ali Rahim, David Ruy, Brett Steele, Ben Van Berkel and Winka Dubbeldam, among many others.
