Overview
Recent decades have seen the emergence of threats, both ‘natural’ and man-made, posing new or increased risks to societies. Pandemics, cyber-attacks, climate change, and international terrorism are all examples of crisis that must be dealt with at international, national, and local levels. The online master in Contemporary Issues in Risk and Crisis Management (CRCM) program at UIT the Arctic University of Norway provides students with a multi-disciplinary approach to studying and analysing contemporary issues in risk, crisis, climate change adaptation and societal security. Through a series of specialized courses students will be given in-depth knowledge into theories, methods and strategies enabling them to address these issues in a multi-disciplinary and global perspective.

General requirements
- Relevant bachelor education: Admission to Online international Master program in Contemporary Issues Risk and Crisis Management requires a bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS) or equivalent qualification. Admission requires 80 ECTS covering specialization in risk, crisis, societal security, disaster management, QHSE (quality, health, safety and environment), climate change, development studies, safety, resilience, emergency services, political science, organizational studies, sociology, planning or geography.
- Applicants must have a minimum grade average comparable to a Norwegian “C” (3.0) in the ECTS scale, see the UiT webpage for International admissions for more information on how the point average is calculated.
