Overview
The focus of the Culture - Politics - Society programme from University of Tübingen is the conceptual and contextualized examination of education and upbringing. These are framed in a variety of ways. They also owe their form to the transformations of the political field, cultural contexts and social structures and can only be researched by resorting to advanced methods and ambitious theories.
The curriculum is therefore shaped by traditional theories of educational science as well as by approaches that are being tried out in other disciplines. Critical educational theory meets poststructural concepts, educational gender research meets postcolonial studies, educational governance research meets philosophical aesthetics. This approach expresses the conviction that education and training processes can only be adequately examined if not only the borders of the nation state but also those of neighboring disciplines are overcome.
Theoretical and empirical perspectives then do not compete with each other, but stimulate each other. that educational processes can only be adequately examined when not only the borders of the nation state but also those of neighboring disciplines are overcome.
