During the Health Sciences programme offered by University of Twente (UT), you will learn to analyse problems from different perspectives. You will become familiar with using different models, (big data) analysis methods and implementing and evaluating innovative improvements. 


During the Health Sciences Health Sciences programme offered by University of Twente (UT) University of Twente (UT), you will gain insight in healthcare for individuals, organizational processes and the effects of policies on national healthcare. At the start of the programme you will choose between three specializations: Personalised monitoring and coaching, Optimization of healthcare processes and Innovation in public health.

Health scientists at the University of Twente know how to translate results from fundamental and applied clinical research into state-of-the-art healthcare provision. The focus in this programme is on improving healthcare using medical and information technology. You will have the opportunity to work with renowned researchers and scientists. You may also work in one of our research institutes, for example, the MIRA institute for Biomedical Technology & Technical Medicine.


With a Master’s degree in Health Sciences many possibilities will be open to you. There is a great need for health scientists with a keen understanding of technology and the ability to make sharp analyses and offer solutions. With this degree, you can work at hospitals, insurance companies, in home care, for consultancy agencies, at government level and in medical companies. You could also become a manager or project leader implementing health concepts, a policy maker, or a consultant facilitating cooperation between healthcare organizations.

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

  • Academic degree, Bachelor of Science very much related to Health Sciences with a minimum of 3 year Bachelor study program, or a Master Degree in a related study, or PhD of a well-known University
  • Knowledge of the following topics: Research methodology and statistics
