Key Features

The aim of the Special Education - Visual Impairment programme at Alagappa University is of preparing teachers as education leaders. The major thrust of the M.Ed.Spl.Ed. would be professional preparation of teacher educators who would through this process be equipped with the knowledge and competencies to facilitate and conduct initial preparation and continuing professional development of teachers.

They would need to be necessarily equipped with the core competencies and knowledge related to teacher education, its philosophical underpinnings, research methodology, curriculum planning and be aware of best practices in the field of pedagogical interventions and adaptations for children with disabilities.
