The Industrial Engineering and Management Industrial Engineering and Management programme offered by University of Twente (UT) University of Twente (UT) teaches you to develop, analyse and optimize processes and management in organizations with a view to improving productivity, raising product and labour quality, and quantifying risks from a technological perspective. Green logistics, safety, improving labour conditions and cradle-to-cradle are key issues for engineering process managers.

Programme Structure

Year 1 - The courses explore the theory and practice of these processes, covering topics such as the design and planning of manufacturing processes, warehousing, distribution logistics, project management, and maintenance projects, and include the use of software tools for the simulation of business processes. Most courses are based on the application of operations research techniques in solving problems in production and logistics.

Year 2 - In the first semester of your second year, you will have the option of incorporating courses from other universities (in the Netherlands and abroad) into the programme, provided that they are technically relevant and at the right academic level. You will be encouraged to study abroad for one semester.

  • Minimum required score (Grade C):

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.
