Overview
A graduate of the study programme Chemical Engineering from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava knows:
- to assess the essential contexts, principles and theories describing physical and chemical processes
- to analyze physical and chemical processes, interpret the laws that govern the processes applied in various branches of chemical, food and pharmaceutical technologies including the field of environment protection
- to assess the quality of chemicals and their ecological and toxicological properties, relationship between the structure of materials and their properties
- to evaluate the issues of production and separation of chemical substances and materials, to assess the methods of modification of these substances
- to independently solve complex theoretical and practical problems of chemical technology and its management
- to identify and to evaluate the basic safety issues of chemical production and the risk associated with the operation of the technology
- to independently and creatively interpret and analyze professional texts and work with sources of information
- to compile and solve mathematical models of unit operations, reactors and bioreactors, in which they applies knowledge of chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, physical equilibria, mass, momentum and heat transfer
- to model processes taking place in simple and complex systems in order to optimize material consumption and production costs as well as to minimize the impact of technology on environment
