The Aktion Austria - Slovakia: Summer Slovak Language Course Scholarship is offered by SAIA, n. o., on behalf of and financed by the Action Austria - Slovakia.

Applicable programmes


The course costs will be paid by the Action Austria-Slovakia, covering the following:


3 meals a day;


culture-and-society-of-the-country-programme and culture programme - e. g. trips and presentations that will be held within the course.


  • The grants are awarded for a stay during August at the "Studia Academica Slovaca - The Centre for Slovak as a Foreign Language“. The summer school takes place in August in Bratislava.
  • Applicants for summer language course scholarships can come from public or private universities, universities of applied sciences, and colleges of education.
  • Eligibility is based on the successful completion of at least 2 semesters at an Austrian public university, an Austrian private university or an Austrian university of applied sciences; that is, the successful completion of the exams prescribed by the curriculum.
  • Scholarships of the action are only awarded to students and doctoral candidates of universities as well as universities of applied sciences.
  • Candidates who have not previously received a summer language grant from the Action while studying for a particular degree (bachelor, master) will be given preference.
  • Those eligible include currently enrolled (minimum of 5 ECTS in the last term) scholars or scholars who are presently involved in research activities at their university.
  • Slovak citizens who have a permanent residence in Slovakia and study at an Austrian University can receive a scholarship from the Action for a stay in Slovakia only if there are at least 100km (linear distance) between the place of their host institution and the place of their permanent residence.

Motivation letter for undertaking a residential language course;

1 letter of recommendation of a university teacher or of a research associate (optional);

Diploma and Certificate of State Examination (if applicable);

Confirmation of study at the university (from the relevant institute or department).
