Overview
The Master’s Programme in Earth Sciences at the University of Amsterdam provides you with the opportunity to specialise in your area of interest and gain practical experience through international field work. Examine the interaction between man and earth from different perspectives and use this interdisciplinary approach to develop solutions to real-world challenges.
This Master’s programme is strongly linked to ecology and offers two tracks: Environmental Management (how to manage environments in which Earth, nature and people all meet their needs) and Earth System Science (gain systemic insights on how the Earth, nature and people develop and affect each other over time).
Earth Sciences will suit you, if...
- you are solution-oriented and like to do applied research.
- you like to address a problem from different perspectives for an interdisciplinary approach.
- you’d like to specialise in your field of interest, for example biodiversity, ecology, water management, environmental chemistry etc.
- you’d like to do field work and internships that contribute to environmental research on real-world challenges right from the start.
- you want to learn from the best: benefit from the scientific research and knowledge of teachers and other experts in ecology and earth sciences.
Accreditation
Both tracks are a specialisation of the UvA Master's programme Earth Sciences, which has been accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO)
