Overview
Throughout the Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media Postgrad.Cert offered at Fanshawe College you will learn the theory of digital technology and become proficient in using software for video editing, audio editing, motion graphics, 3D animation, compositing and visual effects. You’ll emerge from the programme with the technical skills, knowledge and practical tools for a career in advanced post-production.
Apply your knowledge, get practical experience and make business connections through an internship within the post-production industry. As well, your portfolio will be expanded and developed throughout the programme so you’ll graduate with a professional demo reel to show potential employers your creativity and innovation.
For students interested in studying further, Brock University and Fanshawe College have developed an articulation agreement, which gives you the opportunity to obtain a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies, as well as a graduate certificate in Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media. Students may start at either institution and receive credit transfer, graduating with both a degree and graduate certificate in only four years.

- An Ontario College Diploma, or Ontario College Advanced Diploma, or Ontario College Graduate Certificate from Fanshawe College in: Broadcasting - Television, Fine Art, Multi Media Design and Production, Interactive Media Design, Interactive Media Design and Production, Graphic Design, 3D Animation and Character Design, Photography, Video Game Design (Note: minimum 'B' average or 3.0 GPA from one of the above programmes)
- An equivalent qualification from another institution as judged by the College (Note: minimum 'B' average or 3.0 GPA)
- Professional background and experience as judged by the College to be equivalent to the above
- Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English
