The Master of Applied Linguistics from University of Queensland is a professional development program designed for teachers of English and other second languages, as well as language professionals in translation, interpretation and other second language areas.

You can choose to specialise in Applied Linguistics or Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Studies.

For your two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) study, you'll select from nearly 30 courses in the linguistic, psychological, educational and socio-cultural aspects of language learning and use, and in language teaching methodology.

Approved degree in the same discipline with a GPA of 4.5; or GCAppLing* or GDipAppLing* with a GPA of 4.5; or Approved degree in any discipline with a GPA of 4.5 and a minimum of two years language teaching experience.

To satisfy the requirement for "same discipline" a minimum amount of content in that discipline is required - this would be at least a major, field of study, or approximately 30% of program content including a mix of introductory and advanced courses. Students wishing to undertake the dissertation must enrol in the 3 semester #24 Masters program.
