In addition, emerging fields such as functional foods and nutraceuticals are given due consideration through course work and research. In order to successfully compete in the global market a food scientist/ technologist should be well-equipped with the up-to-date theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills in the subject area.
The Food Science and Technology MSc programme offered at University of Peradeniya has been developed to be of international standard and are conducted by highly qualified staff in the country having national and international experience in both technical and advisory capacities.
