Overview
Key facts
The focus of Saarland University's High-Performance Sport course is on current topics in international high-performance sport: What are the training methods and how does the performance diagnostics work? Which sports medicine and psychological aspects need to be considered? What structures exist in top international sport, and what can the promotion of talent and effective doping prevention look like?
The students acquire in-depth skills in the areas of performance physiology, injury prevention and sports nutrition. You will get to know internationally recognized training and diagnostic programs and independently plan competitive training programs. Other topics include stress management, endurance training, performance development and the fight against doping. Graduates of the course open up professional activities in a global context, for example at national and international universities, sports associations and clubs in the professional sports sector.
The Saarbrücken location offers ideal conditions for this thematically broad-based course. This includes the close cooperation with the Olympiastützpunkt Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland, the state sports association for the Saarland as well as with the competitive sports-related chairs under the umbrella of the sports science institute of the university.
