Overview
Sustainability is an important aspect for the food sector. There is a high demand for qualified professionals who are able to understand the topics of sustainability “from farm to fork” and how to integrate and implement sustainability in the food chain. Two European Higher Education Institutes ISARA (France) and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy) in the field of agriculture and food science have joined forces to offer the Susfoods Master programme.
For this Sustainable Food Systems - Double Degree programme from Lyon Polytechnic Institute, the first and third semesters are already predetermined for students whereas for the second semester they can choose to take part in an exchange.
During the first and second semester students should attend courses in the university in Italy where they are originally accepted, and the third semester they have to participate in the courses at university in France.

General requirements
- Bachelor degree in food science & technology or nutritional sciences or an equivalent degree with an EQF level 6 or an equivalent based on 180 ECTS.
- Candidates with BSc in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Agricultural sciences, etc.., are also welcome to apply (and may be assigned integrative readings on Microbiology and Food Technology upon admission)
- Students with an economic or social bachelor’s degree need to prove that they took 60 credits in courses dealing with food science and technology.
