Floods, storms, landslides, and droughts are among the main water- and climate-related hazards affecting billions of people worldwide. As climate change intensifies many of these phenomena, society urgently needs professionals capable of understanding, anticipating, and managing them.The Master’s Degree in Water and Geological Risk Engineering prepares future international leaders to work across hydrology, geology, climate science, and risk management. The program brings together a faculty largely composed of researchers ranked among the world’s top 2%, drawn from three departments at the University of Padova. It combines outstanding scientific expertise with an interdisciplinary foundation, advanced theoretical knowledge, and practical training.

Graduates work in public and private companies that are active in the evaluation, management, and reduction of risk associated with events triggered by water-related and geological phenomena: governmental and non-governmental water management organizations, national, regional, and local water authorities, environmental protection agencies, reclamation and irrigation agencies, local and international water resources engineering companies, insurance and re-insurance companies, risk modelling and assessment companies, United Nations, FAO, World Bank, research institutions, academia.
