Overview

The Law and New Technologies programme at Birkbeck, University of London is centred around seminars in which you will discuss contemporary challenges posed by new technologies.

Following an introduction to practical and theoretical ideas on the most pressing questions connected to law and technology, you will then apply these ideas to contemporary world problems such as the erosion of democracy, climate change, economic inequality, political radicalisation, cybercrime and the new wave of automation facing labour markets.

Careers and Employability

Graduates may use the degree to advance their existing career or to help them change or develop a new career path in, for example, policy development, practice and analysis, from within organisations across public, private and non-governmental sectors, including local and national government bodies, law enforcement and justice agencies, think-tanks, media outlets and universities.
