Description
Generous donations from former students, including Mr Timothy J Newling, have allowed us to establish a fund to provide financial assistance to students studying the subject areas of earth and planetary sciences.
Benefits
Awards are based on the estimated costs as provided by the department organising the trip and will not necessarily cover your own costs in full.
Funding for independent fieldwork modules will be assessed on a case by case basis and will be subject to caps, so you may not receive the full amount of funding you have requested.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- taking one of the field classes or fieldwork modules listed above
- taking this module for the first time - please note that you will not be provided with field trip funding for the same module more than once
- up to date with fee payments or have an approved tuition fee loan and not a debtor to the College
- a registered Birkbeck student, studying on a programme that is based at our Bloomsbury campus in London (this includes programmes delivered online)
- usually have a household income of less than £40,000.
