As a teacher of art and design, you’ll be responsible for uncovering the creative spark in each and every student you teach. You’ll open young people’s eyes to endless creative possibilities and show them new means by which they can express themselves. Overall, you’ll be responsible for nurturing talent in the creatives of tomorrow.

What you'll learn

This Secondary Education - Art and Design course at University of Strathclyde will equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you require. The PGDE is modular in structure and students will study three modules across the year:

an honours degree with a clear focus on art and/or design, that has been validated by a higher education institution in the United Kingdom or a degree of an equivalent standard from an institution outside the United Kingdom
the degree must have at least 80 credits covering both fine art and design from a range of the following practical subjects (a maximum of 20 credits may come from Digital Art/Design or Photography).
