Overview
Studies are offered in an executive-style and through a blended learning model with time both online and during four intensive face-to-face, multi-day bootcamps throughout the year.
What is the degree all about?
The Education Entrepreneurship programme at Oulu University of Applied Sciences supports you as a professional to explore opportunities and build networks in the global education innovation community (both from a pedagogical and business perspective). The cohort is interdisciplinary and international with the programme completed in a collaborative and working-life focused learning environment.
The programme is offered in collaboration with a number of international business and university partners in the Americas and Europe. It is expected that these partnerships will support program content by affording opportunities to learn from various international experts and to learn from various cases of entrepreneurship in education globally.
The degree programme delivers content focusing on competencies that enable you to engage in the global education (Edtech) industry with a focus on the education system in Finland and key sites of innovation around the world.
Participants will be able to:
- identify and pursue opportunities for business and innovation through an interdisciplinary approach in the context of education and training;
- design, test and implement an innovative product or service;
- practice and share expertise in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams and networks; and
- build professional networks within the global Edtech industry.

General requirements
- Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree or higher, or a corresponding foreign degree. Oulu University of Applied Sciences also accepts a Finnish post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma.
The student selection is two-phased: advance assignment and interview. All applicants that pass the advance assignment are invited to second phase of student selection and take part in an individual online interview.
- Applicants are required to present the following documents before the interviews:
- Cover letter
- Curriculum vitae
- Preliminary plan describing a development challenge.
- The advance assignment is evaluated on a scale of pass / fail. The document should be submitted in English in pdf-format by uploading it to the online application on 26 January 2022 at 3 pm Finnish time at the latest.
Work experience
In addition two (2) years of field specific work experience is required after the graduation.
