Overview
This research-oriented Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Visual Computing at École Polytechnique is at the heart of digital science and its latest, most promising applications. Its curriculum comprises two branches, namely Artificial Intelligence and Visual Computing. The first branch takes into account statistical learning and its applications in data science, while the second looks at 3D computer graphics, virtual and augmented reality, multimodal interaction, computer vision, robotics, and 3D manufacturing.
Career Prospects
A rapidly growing number of companies are looking for researchers and engineers who are able to create new original computationally competitive AI algorithms. The particular focus put on visual computing in this training will naturally lead students toward applications related to image processing, virtual worlds, conversational agents or drone navigation.
The Artificial Intelligence and Visual Computing Master’s combines both research and professional experience. After graduating, students can either pursue PhD study at a French or foreign research lab, or work for companies and start-ups across a range of industries:
- Digital applications for smartphones, computers, or personal assistants: Shazam
- Control of autonomous vehicles, drones and robots: Valeo, BMW, Valeo
- Virtual reality, image and video editing, design and simulation of 3D virtual worlds: Ubisoft, Dassault Systems, Microsoft, Adobe, Sony, Nintendo
- E-commerce and online advertisement: Criteo, Teads, Cdiscount, FNAC, eBay, Microsoft, Ubisoft
- Financial, banking and insurance: BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Barclays, AXA
