Overview
Medical education is at the core of healthcare provision globally. Ensuring the future workforce is prepared to meet the challenges of modern healthcare means we need medical education experts to help shape practice.
At the Centre for Medical Education - founded over 40 years ago by Professor Ronald Harden OBE - we help medical educators to reach their goals, and prepare to train the workforce of the future.
Our wide-ranging curriculum fits around you and your working life, whether you're new to teaching and training, or wish to advance existing skills and knowledge.
You'll start with two core modules which will give you a strong overview of the core concepts of medical education.
You'll then choose a range of optional modules to gain a qualification that fits you and your goals. If you complete a PGCert, you'll undertake the two core and one optional module, the PGDip is six modules in total (including the two core), and the Masters course adds a dissertation on to the PGDip format. However far you take your qualification with us, you'll be supported and cohorted with likeminded professionals who can share insight into their professional practice.
We also offer specialist PGCerts for those teaching in anaesthetics, dentistry, general practice, oncology, radiology, simulation (requiring a short face-to-face component), and surgery.
Career
This Medical Education (part time) programme from University of Dundee will prepare you to take on new challenges and responsibilities in your career. You'll gain a strong understanding of the underlying principles of medical education, and how the field is changing to react to the demands of modern healthcare teaching.
You'll develop the knowledge and skills to deliver the medical curriculum more effectively, and also be fully equipped to design and evaluate medical training at all levels, ensuring effective development of those you are training.
