Overview
In the International Energy Studies and Energy Finance MSc course from University of Dundee, you will learn about the multiple and complex challenges facing the energy industry, such as decarbonisation, wide scale digitisation, and decentralisation.
Technological change and government initiatives in the energy and finance industries are creating new products, markets, and business models. We will train you to assess complex issues requiring close collaboration across related topics in the social sciences.
You will learn to analyse, synthesise, and articulate concepts and practices relevant to the energy industry. You will understand the fundamental drivers of various energy markets, such as oil, gas, and electric power. You'll acquire foundational and contextual knowledge and skills in management, through classroom and work-based learning, and coaching from specialist academics or senior industry professionals.

Remote internships
As part of this course you have the opportunity to undertake a remote internship in conjunction with Pagoda Projects, with host companies in destinations including China, Mexico, Vietnam and the UK. These internships offer valuable work experience and are designed to increase your cultural understanding and employability skills.

This programme is designed for graduates with a good first degree, who aspire to work in the Energy sector and who have a particular interest in Oil & Gas or related sectors. To gain admission to the MSc Energy Studies programme, students are expected to hold a good honours degree or equivalent.

- Consideration will also be given to applicants with other academic backgrounds who explain clearly their motivation for undertaking the relevant LLM, outlining any relevant legal work experience
