Key features
The Spacecraft Engineering program offered by Moscow Aviation Institute is based on the experience of the Soviet space program and the latest Russian space developments. A lot of space and launch vehicles constitute the largest educational base in Russia for laboratory research and practical training. MAI students have launched 9 satellites designed and manufactured at the university.
Principal Subjects
The curriculum includes in-depth study courses on mathematics used in ballistic calculations for aero- and spaceflights and advanced studies in theory of strength and reliability. Students undergo practical training in CAD-software, and take elective courses on spacecraft subsystems.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the program gain deep knowledge of theoretical disciplines and knowledge of various constructive approaches and technological solutions which used in the modern aerospace industry. This allows them to begin their career in any of the world’s aerospace companies such asNASA, Boeing, Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), RosCosmos, European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), SpaceX, Thales, Magellan Aerospace. Mr. Wang Yongzhi, Chief Designerof China's first manned spacecraft Shenzhou 5 and Shenzhou 6 is our graduate.
