Overview

In this Culture, Organization and Management programme offered at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, you’ll learn qualitative methodology and apply it to dissecting complex organizational dynamics, diving into topics such as change management, HR policy measures, or the impact of globalization on organizations. With this knowledge in your arsenal, you’ll embark on a 3-month fieldwork research project on a topic of your own choosing, concluding with a thesis based on your research findings.

Career

A great number of graduates embark on a role (as a trainee) in the public sector such as in healthcare or educational institutions, where an innovative, qualitative research approach is essential to solving complex issues. COM graduates are suited to advisory and policymaking roles at non-profits, NGOs or international organizations as the programme’s focus on societal challenges makes them ideal candidates to advise on complex global issues such as the climate change crisis or the rise of digitalization. Moreover, a notable number of our graduates choose to further their academic journey by engaging in research and pursuing a PhD.
