Sport Management Loughborough University

Overview

The Sport Management  programme from  Loughborough University  is co-taught by the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (ranked 1st in the world for sport-related subjects, QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023) and Loughborough Business School (a triple accredited UK business school).

The programme is a business and management degree, which accounts for nuances within the sport industry. Our teaching is informed by world-leading management and sport-related research and designed to develop your skills in sport marketing, policy and governance analysis, organisational management, finance and accounting. Students will also understand the key strategic challenges facing the sport ecosystem and the impact of sport on wider society.

Careers 

Our master's in Sport Management graduates are known around the world for their engagement in the sport sector. Many of our graduates go on to work for professional sports teams, sport marketing and sponsorship agencies, and sport governing institutions (e.g., national and international sport governing bodies, and sport government departments).

Typical roles include sport marketing and sponsorship managers/executives, sport retail managers, sport and leisure consultants, national and international sport federation administrators and development officers, and event management and operations executives.

Moreover, as our MSc in Sport Management is regarded as a business- and management-oriented degree, many of our graduates have used their transferable knowledge and skills gained from their time at Loughborough to forge successful careers in other business and management sectors, including general business, healthcare, fitness, tourism, and education industries.
