The Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi offers a Master of Science in Politics and Policy Analysis which aims to provide an advanced education in Political Science and the topics of public policy analysis. 

About

Students of the M.Sc. in Politics and Policy Analysis delivered by the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi will understand the complex political, economic and social dynamics of the modern world, how national and international institutions deal with them and how to act in such contexts. They will acquire advanced training in the methods of analysis and study of both public policies and the institutions which lead the decision making process.

Specifically, the program:

  • Gives students a complete preparation in the two major areas of Political Science (Comparative Politics and International Relations), integrated with knowledge of the role of laws and of the evolution of population dynamics in political contexts
  • Gives a complete preparation with advanced quantitative skills in both theoretical and empirical methods, which will be applied to evaluating public policies, the public sector, the policy decision making process and political dynamics
    • Develops competencies promoting soft skills such as teamwork, the ability to present and discuss effectively, the capacity to think critically and to understand major political and policy-making issues
    • Develops skills through interdisciplinary teaching activities organized into workshops, which foster the understanding of political and social problems from different perspectives. Teaching methods support interaction between faculty and students and among students.

Students can choose courses offered in the traditional areas of expertise of economics and management, as well as courses which will be activated in the major areas of Political Science, such as, for example: Political Violence, War and Conflicts, Migration and Refugees, Human Rights, Political and Economic Development, Gender and Politics, Geo-Politics and History of Africa and Middle East (courses to be confirmed).

      C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

      Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

    Academic Requirements

      The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

    International applicants

    In all the selection rounds, International applicants are selected on the basis of a process that takes into consideration all elements of their profile, focusing on three components:

    • Results of the GMAT (or GRE) test
    • Grade point average of exams passed in the Undergraduate program
    • Evaluation of the applicant's Curriculum vitae / Resumée and Personal statement, possibility of personal assessment interview.
