Overview
The aim of Economics from Yildiz Technical University is to equip students with the ability to use advanced analytical methods or techniques and the theoretical and applied knowledge of modern economics. With this content, the program aims to provide the necessary economics knowledge and technical equipment to students who want to do a doctorate, and to meet the need for qualified researcher/manager economists needed by public and private sector institutions or enterprises. A one-year preparatory program is applied for students who have not graduated from known departments of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences (Business Administration, International Relations, Finance, Public Administration, etc.), especially Engineering.

- Graduates who receive their master's degree can find jobs in private or public institutions and organizations according to their interests. Some of the graduates continue their doctoral studies in economics or related fields.
- Students who have left the graduate programs of higher education institutions due to horizontal transfer or due to dismissal and who are enrolled in our graduate programs, can take a maximum of 3 (three) courses as defined by the relevant department/art branch, provided that the success grade of the course they have previously taken at the graduate level meets the minimum success grade valid for the program level to which they are applying. may be counted towards the elective and/or compulsory course load.

- The graduate students in this program must complete a minimum of 21 local credits (7 courses), a seminar course and a thesis; they must be successful in all of the courses with a minimum achievement grade of CB, must have completed 90-120 ECTS credits and have scored a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 to qualify for graduation.

General requirements
- To study in the graduate programs, the students are required to take an exam called “ALES” (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam), which is also administered by ÖSYM, and submit this score with their application. GRE or GMAT can also be a substitute of ALES. The applicants have to meet additional program requirements defined by the universities.
- In Turkey, the universities have the right to define the admission criteria themselves and these admission criteria have to be approved by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK).
