Overview
The Master’s programmes have a solid, technical backbone that broadly covers all aspects of materials and processing, sustainability and recycling, circular (eco)design and lifecycle engineering, materials substitution and manufacturing (60 ECTS). This is completed with courses on entrepreneurship and innovation (30 ECTS), an internship (6 ECTS), and the Master thesis (24 ECTS). The internship and thesis are positioned in companies strongly related to the field of sustainable and raw materials.
Accreditation
The SUMA programme has received the EIT Label, a quality seal awarded to top Master and PhD programmes that excel in shaping a new generation of students into game changers and innovators.

General requirements
Students are selected and admitted to the programme and track, based on their academic results, prerequisite requirements, motivation and language skills. They must demonstrate an excellent command of spoken and written English.
Candidates must meet the admission criteria of the Master’s Degree Programmes for both partner institutions in a track.
All students shoud have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent. Candidates must have obtained a BSc diploma of substantial quality and at a level corresponding to at least three years’ study at a university, equivalent to 180 ECTS. Depending on the background, some students might need to follow additional preparatory courses or demonstrate that they are less than 40 ECTS away of obtaining the BSc diploma.

- Total fees for EEA students range from €77 to €5,500.

Living costs for Grenoble
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
Because the SUMA Master programmes are EIT Labeled, we are able to support all accepted and enrolled students with an ‘Added value student activities grant’ (AVSA grant). For students starting in September 2023, the AVSA equals EUR 13,500 and is paid in full to the students in 2024.
EIT RawMaterials determines the payment modalities of these scholarships.
Please note that the grant is not sufficient to cover the costs of the full programme. You need to plan for additional sources of funding.
