About

In the Environmental Biology programme taught at Utrecht University, you will study the fundamental life processes of plants, animals and microbes. The interdisciplinary course content also offers you the chance to examine ecology, biology and animal behaviour from an evolutionary perspective.

Within the Environmental Biology Master, you can select a specialised track from the following:

Careers

A significant proportion of Environmental Biology Master’s students continue on to PhD studies. 1. A relevant bachelor degree

Bachelor programmes that most likely meet the requirements are:

  • Biomedical Sciences, with a minor matching the specific knowledge requirements

  • Other relevant science programme
2. Relevant knowledge, insight and skills
  • Basic knowledge in the field of Biology (minimum level 1 bachelor)
  • Sufficient knowledge in biostatistics
  • In depth knowledge (level 3 bachelor), insight and mastery of methods and techniques in ecology, plant physiology or molecular aspects of plant biology, microbiology and/or behavioural biology.
