Overview
The Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) course at Northumbria University lasts for two years so that there is sufficient time for you to undertake four placements. In total you will accrue 1,000 hours of experience in a range of settings and contexts.
Education
- In the UK all physiotherapists must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- The course has been approved by HCPC and enables you to fulfil HCPC requirements. Employability rates following the course are excellent.

Careers
- On completion of this course you’ll be ready to seek professional registration with HCPC so that you can work as a physiotherapist with the NHS, local authorities, charities or private sector employers.
- Based on your particular interests, you can choose one of your placements (known as the elective placement), where you organise your own placement, with support from the university. Please note that any additional costs associated with travelling, for example for overseas placements, are met by the student

- A minimum of a 2:1 degree in any subject.
- Applicants will be required to attend an interview. Admission is subject to a suitable DBS Enhanced Certificate and a satisfactory health check. Applicants must meet the Health and Care Professions Council's suitability for registration requirements
