Overview
The International Economy and Business MSc from Corvinus University of Budapest is a unique business-economics hybrid programme. This programme will mould you into a well-rounded, pragmatic professional – comfortable with complex economic theory, but capable to apply it to solve real-world problems and become a leader.
What you'll learn
You will benefit from a sound methodological foundation in multiple disciplines, from econometrics, qualitative methods and usage of analytical software packages. You will strengthen your theoretical and contextual background, which will assist in more prudent and fact-based thinking coupled with soft skill development and building of your emotional intelligence.
Learn how to lead medium and large enterprises or complex organisational units, how to negotiate successfully and how to develop effective business strategies.
International Economy and Business includes educational trips and factory visits at companies, such as Suzuki, Mercedes, Bosch, Richter, and the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE).
Self-funded students will have the opportunity to enrol in a double degree programme in their second year. You can study at one of our prestigious partners in Belgium at the University of Liege. An exclusive opportunity to gain two degrees for the time and price of one and spend one year in another country!
For admission onto the International Economy and Business programme, you will typically hold an economics, business, international relations or finance degree.
This programme may also be a good fit for you if you have a similar academic background, such as Human Resources (HR), Management, Commerce, Marketing, Accounting, Tourism or Political Science (provided you meet the compulsory credit requirements stated below). General requirements
- Complete bachelor/undergraduate degree
- Entrance exam. Applicants are required to take an internal exam that tests Logical Reasoning, Language Interpretation, and Creative thinking/Quantitative Skills
However, you may be exempt from the exam:
If you have a university diploma with at least a "good" grade (B on the ECTS scale) from an institution accredited by AACSB/EQUIS, or from a CEMS member (including Corvinus)
Or if you meet the minimum score in one of the international tests: 500 on the GMAT, 300 on the GRE, 150 on the NMAT, or 485 on the GMAT FE
- Minimum credit requirements
You will need a minimum of 10 ECTS constituted from any of the following areas:
- Economics and Methodology (e.g. mathematics, statistics and economics)
- Business (e.g. finance, marketing, accounting)
