Overview
In what ways can a company capitalize on green ICT for profit? How might a company's data system contribute to fostering a sustainable society? Armed with insights into these questions, you will be able to provide guidance to companies, organizations, and society at large in the realm of green digital solutions.
During the Information Sciences programme offered at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam , you will evolve into a digital designer with a holistic perspective, looking beyond the technical aspects of ICT solutions. A key component in the programme is the cultivation of responsible and sustainable software and data systems.
Start working
Career prospects for graduates are excellent. Alumni from the programme work in a wide range of companies and public institutions, both inside and outside the ICT sector. Positions include consultants, junior architects, product owners, data analysts, data managers/stewards, ethics specialists, sustainability specialists (e.g. for eco-procurement, data centres), project management officers and researchers.
You’ll be particularly well prepared for roles acting as a bridge between ICT and non-ICT professionals: you’ll speak both languages and understand both domains. There’s a large and growing demand for professionals with these skills.
