The aim of the programme is to enable Master's students to study in an internationally renowned programme at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and, where appropriate, to obtain the degree.

Description

Funding is provided for stays at Sciences Po within the framework of the (two-year) Master's programmes, with the exception of the MPA for study purposes.

The scholarship period is nine months, based on Sciences Po's academic calendar.

Candidates who start their studies at Sciences Po for the first time in the academic year will already receive the scholarship from September to participate in a "stage d'intégration" in Paris. An extension for the second Master's year can be applied for. The entire duration of the degree programme should be mentioned in the initial application.

The scholarship includes the following benefits:

A monthly scholarship instalment determined according to the host country;

Travel allowance depending on the host country;

Sickness, accident and personal liability insurance benefits;

In addition, the DAAD will pay the tuition fees up to the amount estimated by Sciences Po for DAAD scholarship holders.

Eligibility

  • Applications are open to outstandingly qualified German graduates in Master's programmes in all disciplines.
  • A good knowledge of French and English is essential. You can find more information about the language levels on the website.
  • The academic qualification, measured by academic achievements and evaluations.
  • The quality of the project, measured by the study plan and letter of motivation; the quality of the project includes the following aspects: the justification of the application, the plausibility and feasibility of the project, the state of preparation of the stay abroad, the embedding of the stay in the academic career as well as the connection with academic or professional perspectives.
  • Knowledge of the language and the country extracurricular knowledge, interests and extracurricular commitment.
