The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship supports students from eligible least developed and middle-income Commonwealth countries to undertake selected full-time Master’s programmes at participating UK universities.

Description

The scholarship is jointly funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and participating UK universities. It is intended for candidates who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK and whose proposed studies can contribute to the development of their home countries.

Benefits

Receive funding for 100% of your tuition fees, plus return airfare to the UK from your country of residence, a maintenance award and additional allowances.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK.
  • Meet the entry requirements for the specific course, as detailed on our website.
  • Have made a complete academic application to study for one of the approved courses at the University of Nottingham by the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Application deadline (please note, only students with offers for the relevant degree course can be shortlisted).
  • Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country.
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
