Description
The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce the Bangladesh Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship award for select Bangladesh students applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University starting September.
These are joint awards with our local representatives who will be invited to send nominations of the students to the university based on their academic scores.
The scholarships will be awarded to the highest performing students starting their University of Birmingham programme in the academic year.
Benefits
The scholarship is for £10,000 awards towards tuition fees (for the first year only) of a full-time postgraduate masters programme starting September.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible, candidates must:
- Have received an offer and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice for a full-time postgraduate taught programme starting September, at Birmingham’s UK campus.
- Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
- Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
- Have paid their £3,000 deposit by the deadline stated in their offer letter from Admissions Office (note the recipient of the full scholarship will be able to request and receive a refund of their deposit payment after enrolment).
- Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
- Start their studies at the University in September 2026 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
- Be registered with, and have their postgraduate study application attached to, one of our local representatives listed below in alphabetical order.
- Submit your expression of interest in the scholarship to the local representative by the deadline; 30 June.
- Upon enrolment in September, pay their net tuition fees for the academic year by 1 November, immediately following enrolment.

The scholarship is open for a limited period and early programme application is recommended to ensure eligibility for consideration and to maximise the chances of success.
To apply for the scholarship students will need to have accepted an offer from the University of Birmingham, have selected Birmingham as their firm choice. Be registered with, and have their postgraduate taught study application attached to, one of their local representatives.
