The Bute Energy Bursary supports Welsh-domiciled students studying the MSc Spatial Planning and Development at Cardiff University. The bursary aims to encourage careers in planning and the renewable energy sector in Wales by providing substantial tuition fee support.

Description

The Bute Energy Bursary is funded through a partnership between Cardiff University's School of Geography and Planning and Bute Energy. It is available to students studying the MSc Spatial Planning and Development on either a full-time or part-time basis.

The bursary supports students who intend to pursue a career in planning or renewable energy in Wales and who plan to achieve Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Two bursaries are available each academic year.

Eligibility

  • Must hold and accept a conditional or unconditional offer for the MSc Spatial Planning and Development.
  • May study full-time or part-time.
  • Must be Welsh-domiciled (normally resident in Wales for at least three years) and have Home fee status.
  • Tuition fees must not be paid by an employer.
  • Must intend to pursue a career in planning or the renewable energy sector in Wales.
  • Must intend to achieve RTPI Chartered Membership.
  • Must demonstrate a strong interest in planning and/or renewable energy.
  • Must submit an application by the published deadline.

Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview with representatives from Cardiff University and Bute Energy.
