Description
Established in 2010 and maintained by the income of an endowment gift of $23,000 from Dr Donald Tugby, who taught anthropology at The University of Queensland from 1958 to 1986. Dr Tugby introduced statistics to archaeology and initiated extensive archaeological fieldwork on North Stradbroke Island.
The prize is to encourage and reward research excellence in archaeology by facilitating postgraduate student participation in the global archaeological research community.
