The Université François-Rabelais is a young university!It was only established in 1970.Its forty years of commitment to excellence have contributed significantly to making it the leading further education establishment in France’s Centre region.
The University of Tours is a decisively European university that has established a campaign of actions within the Europe strategy, aiming to develop “smart, sustainable and inclusive growth”. Through its higher education and research missions, the University of Tours plays a key role in research, development, and in raising the scientific, cultural and professional capacities of as many individuals as possible.
The University totals 34 research units, including 15 joint research units in partnership with the CNRS (the National Centre for Scientific Research), the INSERM (the National Institute of Health and Medical Research), the INRA (the National Institute for Agricultural Research) and the CEA (the Atomic Energy Commission). All of these units are attached to four Doctoral Schools, including three that are shared with the University of Orléans, and to a “Maison des Sciences de l’Homme” (Institute for Human Sciences), related to the CNRS.

I enjoyed my studies at François Rabelais University. Tours is a student town, very lively and there are a lot of activities to do. The Bachelor's degree in Applied Modern Languages (LEA) was overall good. I liked the fact that it allowed us to study languages and translation but also to gain knowledge of law, management, and economics. I also had the opportunity to study...
This is an interested program due to the international opportunities. On the third year of this formation, I will do a year abroad, to study in a partnership university. Despite to lack of communication with the teachers or the persona, I think that it is a good formation.
What i like about my university is the proximity between students and teacher. They're always willing to help.
