History
The state-recognised SRH Fernhochschule – The Distance Learning University specialises in online study options that accommodate working professionals. As a quality leader in distance learning, the university has developed a study model that offers maximum flexibility and guarantees excellent service.
Education
Our university offers a selection of 70 Bachelor's and Master's online programs, as well as over 90 university certificates. Optional face-to-face classes and examinations are available at 21 sites. Currently, more than 12,000 students and certificate applicants are enrolled at the largest university in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, which was voted Germany’s most popular distance learning university for the sixth time in 2024.
As a system-accredited university with permanent state recognition awarded by the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, we hold the quality seal of the German Accreditation Council. All degree programs and certificate courses have received state accreditation.

We do not have a physical campus because we offer distance learning programmes. Therefore, you are not tied to a physical place. Our E-Campus ensures immediate access to everything you need, wherever you are.

We are system-accredited – which means that the excellent quality of our degree programmes is guaranteed, as is the recognition of your degree. The quality seal of the German Accreditation Council acknowledges the high standards of teaching and learning at our distance-learning university. Moreover, we are entitled to use our tested quality assurance processes to accredit our degree programmes internally. You can therefore be sure that the degree you take will be up-to-date, application-oriented and methodologically tested. And you can rest assured that we plan, teach and assess according to certified processes.
